Taking sucralfate 1gm .. before meals + nightly .. what if i dont' eat lunch ..can i skip that dose ? .. are 4 doses a day needed to build up protection or does this drug work each time you use it ? does not make sense to use these if i skip a meal?

It depends upon what reason it was prescribed for you. It is best suited for the treatment of peptic duodenal ulcers as it is presumed to form a protective film over the erosion. It is prescribed also as a barrier to gastric acid. It's recommended to be taken on an empty stomach before or 2 hours after meals &at bedtime so I recommend taking it even without eating a meal.
