A member asked:

Difference between dilated and narrowed ureters and what it means to have either of them?

Narrowing is due to scarring of the ureter and can result in obstruction of urine flow. A dilated ureter is due to an obstruction distal to the dilated site, i. e. there is usually a stone or scarr downstream from the dilated area. Both represent abnormalities in the urinary system.

Dilated means bigger than normal. Narrowed means smaller than normal. It means your ureters are not normal. Many causes. Discuss with you local Dr.
