A member asked:

Can lymphangiectasia found in the gastric body be the result of a biopsy taken? my gi did an egd then a week later had to do another and found lymphangiectasia. could that be the scar of a previous biopsy site?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You are better off asking the person that did the EGD because he knew whether the repeat sampling was close to the initial one. I doubt that the lymphangiectasia is due to the previous week sampling but it is due to scarring. The scarring may have been from previous inflammation rather than from previous sampling. The EGD was done for a certain reason you did not share.
