A 26-year-old male asked:
Why do some people do not respond at all to corticosteroid nasal sprays( fluticasone, mometasone)? do steroids fail to reduce inflammation in such people?does it also mean that steroid would be unable to cause any side effect in such bodies/people?

It doesn’t mean that the steroids are not decreasing inflammation. It could mean that there is another etiology for the symptoms. For example, if a nasal polyp is causing the symptoms, the polyp may need to be removed to treat the symptoms. So, if the nasal steroids are not helping, see an ear/nose/throat specialist for evaluation/treatment. Best of luck to you!

Diagnosis has to be questioned in such cases, side effects remain otherwise possible with prolonged steroid use.
