A member asked:

I'm 56 and my creatinine tested 1.43. i am to be retested in about a month as i have no history of a high level. my blood pressure was 115/78 and no other measures, including blood sugar were outside the normal ranges. is this a big deal?

You need to have your kidney function evaluate. If the elevated creatinine is not caused by significant dehydration, it should be investigated further for a precise diagnosis and treatment if necessary. The sooner you get this started, the better. Good luck.

Unless you an extremely muscular man, you seem to have early kidney disease and it would be prudent to consult a kidney doctor, a nephrologist. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
