A member asked:

Women 45 years old with a fsh of 88 and lh 45 but still having light periods that happen every 3 or 4 months. the periods start and stop and last about a week. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the hormone levels are consistent with perimenopause and women entering menopause often have irregular periods. Wish you good health!
