Please see your physician or urgent care. Antibiotics may be indicated. Keep area clean and dry using soap and water.

Redness around a superficial wound that is new suggests local infection. Most people will not move on to sepsis; they have good immune systems. Please do see your doctor right away, urgent care if you can't see your doctor. S/he will likely recommend an antibiotic and some vigorous wound care - at least soap and water and lots more water.
