A member asked:

Can an mri tell if you have myelopathy or radiculopathy since it is only pictures? aren't these determined by symptoms? i'm hyperreflexive one knee, unstable gait, tingling arm/hand, shoulder/back pain. dr said mild myelopathy but mri report says no?

Let's cut to the chase: radiculopathy means compression of exiting nerve root, and myelopathy means compression of spinal cord, and high resolution MRI can easily visualize both. Recommend second opinion from a neurosurgeon. If you wish, we could provide a thorough virtual consult here at HT, but have your films available.
