Wound is usually warm, only cold if blood supply is impaired (ischemia). A painless, cold wound is not good because the nerve ending is also dead due to ischemia.

It most likely means that superficial nerves or their branches in the skin sustained some damage from injury,inflammation or stitching,if any was performed for treatment.
