Is hital hernia curable how long i have to take medicines for it. i also have gerd with esophagitis grade a & antral gastritis. is everything curable.

Some curable: others manageable , if you follow your doctors advice , most of sliding hernias will not have symptoms , should be left alone with out surgery , only para esophageal type where only stomach herniates through require urgent repair as it may strangulate stomach , Most of time GERD s may not have hiatus hernia at all .

Had an endoscopy about a month & a half ago, diagnosed with gastritis, esophagitis, peptic ulcer & gerd, been on protonix 40mg twice daily & pepcid 20mg twice day, if I have gerd will I have to stay on these medicines my whole life?
