Ive had inner ear pain for the past week and a half. ive started to also have crazy mood swing and thoughts that ive not had ever. can ear infections mess with your mental health? im going to most likely go get my ear checked out tomorrow morning?

If examination of the ear canal and ear drum reveals no pathology, no treatment or followup is needed. However, mood swings with or without ear pathology should be evaluated by a mental health professional. Ive seen many patients with ear problems but would be hard pressed to blame them for mood swings. Ear pain, which doesn't make you feel great, is another matter and could affect your mood.
