pacemaker does not hamper any daily activity, even sports, if just depends on the persons strength and endurance. Cell phone would not affect it either.

Depends on how "recently" Pacemaker sites have to be fully healed and it is always best to get the approval of the physician who implanted the pacemaker before you start. He/she will be the best person to seek advice regarding the use of mobile phone. In general mobile phones are safe to use, but please be sure by checking with your physician. Good luck.

A European study recommends keeping a smart phone at least 5 to 7 inches away from a pacemaker and using the ear to listen to one on the side opposite the pacemaker side. This applies even to more modern cell phones. The concern is that the pacemaker may erroneously sense a signal from the phone causing a temporary block in a pacer's impulses.
