A meniscus injury is possible, but other problems may have occurred. You need answers and appropriate therapeutic intervention. See an orthopedic surgeon ASAP

A meniscus tear is very possible, but just as the other physician mentioned - other problems may have occurred. A sprain is more likely if you can walk on it and the swelling is mild. But i would see your primary care physician ASAP, if they are not familiar with knee injuries then you may need to see an orthopedic surgeon for further diagnosis.
