: A surgical mask does not eliminate “germs” (bacteria, viruses, etc.) from getting to your nose/mouth. But, it does decrease the amount that either comes from your cough/sneeze to someone else or enters your mask. A mask is one mode of defense-vaccines are an even more effective line of defense!
