A member asked:

Had cervical ct in sept.all notmsl rxcept " shows some prevertabrel swelling " and patient motion.scared. spinal tumor ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tumor not likely: Prevertebral swelling can be related to many different and benign things like respiration/motion. This is one reason why ct/mri should not be obtained unless there is a medical indication that supports its necessity. Now, you are worried and likely will get another study (mri or ct with contrast) to evaluate a problem that may not exist. Relax, discuss your concerns with your doctor.
