A member asked:

What is the meaning of my result in x-y.. hazy opocities are seen un the left lower lobe.. diaphragm and costaphrenic sulci are intact?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hazy opacities in the lung are a sign of airway disease including acute pneumonia as well as some chronic lung pathologies. Intact sulci usually means there is no free fluid. The fact that the opacities are not bilateral rules out pulmonary edema seen in congestive heart failure. Your physician, who examined you and ordered the chest xray must advise you and give you instructions.
