A member asked:

Can a normal intrauterine pregnancy be missed on a tvs ultrasound at 12-13 week pregnancy, even if the uterus is retroverted and the baby is hiding in the back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Delays in ovulation and consequent errors in dating the pregnancy may contribute to errors in ultrasound determination of pregnancy age , but if a pregnancy is indeed "12-13 weeks" size, even a retroverted uterus will be seen accurately and the size of a growing fetus determined by a competent ultrasound technician or physician.
