Can you please explain why my ecg reports abnormal rhythm i had heart palpitations before the ecg but not during it, i have had skipping heart beats. i cant attached the report?

Yes, ekg’s can definitely miss arrhythmias and different ways of monitoring are employed in case significant arrhythmias are still suspected. Your PCP or cardiologist remains your best resource going forward. You will not be able to attach an ekg on the free platform, that will take a private consult under the paid portion of HealthTap.

The correlation between "palpitaions" and an abnormal rhythm detected by the ECG is not perfect. This may be because abnormal rhyhtm consisting of isolated premature beats may not always be felt by the patient, but when they occur frequently, the patient is more likely to feel them. This is one reason why clinicians order a Holter monitor even when the patient is not aware of an arrhythmia.
