A solitary small thyroid nodule located in the posterior aspect of right lobe. the nodule is mildly hypoechoic, rounded (9mm x 8mm) and shows marked peripheral and internal vascularity. no microcalcification seen. what does it mean? should i worry?

The nodule with mixed features, not completely benign by US appearance. You will need blood test for TSH and Thyroid scintigraphy (nuclear study). Based on these results, you may or may not need thyroid biopsy.
