A member asked:

Had a severe attack after eating the other day and er said it wasnt my gallbladder but cancer pain. all symptoms point to gb and my side still hurts and it hurts in my chest to burp. also, night sweats and chills went away after attack?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Whatever "ER" said the pain was "cancer pain" may have exaggerated the cause of the symptoms. Age 40 and above in a female is classically the most common time for onset of gallbladder disease, especially right after a meal containing fat. Cholecystitis can present with fever and chills. If the ER did not do an abdominal ultrasound or gallbladder scan, see your physician to diagnose the pain.
