My daughter is 38 her dentist gave her a mouth swab to check for bacteria and the dentist advised her the swab revealed she is at high risk for colon cancer. this sounds like buffoonery to me that a dentist would advise a patient of this ?

You apparently are not as informed as your daughter's dentist is. Your daughter most likely has periodontitis.Certain oral bacteria make their way into the gut and alter balance of resident microbes.
