My girlfriend cant keep hydrated orally. has been on iv drip for 4 months. what can the problem be. she had a colon resection. is not getting better. no cancer found. endoscopy revealed ulcers in duodenum.

See GI: It does not make any sense to me. Is she losing water because of excessive urination? If so, one needs to consider diabetes insipidus assuming that uncontrolled diabetes mellitus has been ruled out. The colon resection (why?) and the duodenal ulcers have nothing to do with hydration. The latter needs treatment also.
Check with your internist to see if referral to an university center is neede
