A member asked:

With no diagnosed first degree relatives is colon cancer nearly impossible in a 14 year old? my daughter keeps thinking she has it

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Help her: No, colon cancer has a definable risk in all of us, but the CHANCE of getting colon cancer in her age demographic is very low, only a few percent. So, although not nearly impossible, it is highly unlikely. You should try to build confidence by pointing it the positives of a healthy lifestyle and how it can minimize the chances she will get colon cancer in her life !
