A member asked:

Is there solid science behind low fat/high fiber diet to lower risk of colon cancer for ulcerative colitis patients? anything else preventative?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I am not aware: of such data. It is generally accepted that risk of malignancy is proportional to duration of active colitis, so it follows that it is most important to keep the disease under control as much as possible. Confer with your gi specialist for specific advice in your case.
