A member asked:

My mom said when i was 2 years old they said at the clinic that i have a congitive disability. how is that possible to find out at that age when i was only 2 i can understand complex things about psychology and the brain but i'm behind on my reading?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I do not believe it is possible to label a kid with a cognitive disability that young although their may be suspicions triggered by other factors. We know from experience that kids with delays in some developmental domains of function may have them in others. Reading/conversation skills/language development are all emerging later so i suppose this was more predication than fact.
