People with trimethylaminuria are unable to break down trimethylamine. The best treatment is to avoid foods containing trimethylamine (seafood, crustaceans, egg yolks, soybeans, peas, beans, peanuts and other legumes, liver, kidney and other offal, and brassicas such as rapeseed (canola). Copper Chlorophyll oral tablets and antibiotics may help alter bowel bacteria. Wash with low pH soap.
