Is this condition acquired because of overusing topical skin-lightening agents which contains hydroquinone? If it is an acquired condition you just have to stop using the lotion and use certain soaps for cleaning. Soaps with a pH value 5.5–6.5 have been reported to reduce the odor dramatically in some patients.
