Nonionizing radiation is the least harmful of the two types of radiation and is what full-body millimeter-wave scanners at airports use. They do not pose any threat to unborn babies. Ionizing radiation is much more harmful. A single full-body CT scan gives a person a total radiation dose of about 12 mSv. Done while pregnant, this can lead to birth defects and increase the babies risk of cancer.

TSA BODYSCANNERS ARE USED TO DETECT METAL OBJECTS NOT BODY ORGANS OR TISSUE. THE RADIATION IS MINIMAL UNDER GOVT REGS. YOU CAN TRAVEL WHEN YOUR PREGNANT SO DON'T WORRY.
