A member asked:

My daughter just switched to prozac. she was on lexapro for 8 weeks with little to no improvement. she is going from 20mg to 20mg. is there a possibility that she will have little to no side effects? thanks?

SSRI's like "Lexapro and Prozac" for anxiety/depression related disorders are generally similar in degree of effectiveness. Lexapro has a shorter half-life by far than Prozac, which enables one to discontinue the medication sooner. If the benefits desired for the medication are not significant, it may be appropriate to consider alternative non-SSRI medications for treatment.
