Husband just had fem to fem and bilateral fem-pop bypass. drains have been removed from groin but there is a lot of drainage from wounds. how often should these dressings be changed? he is still in hospital but says no one has changed them in a day?

Dressings may be left in place for 2 days providing there's no drainage. Wounds must be kept dry. I believe your husband's dressngs should have been changed daily and drains kept in place until there's very little drainage. Your husband should report his apparently substandard postop care to the surgeon or house staff.
