A member asked:

Broke my left femur and punched a hole through pelvis, terrible knee effusion, was in traction, 3 rods, nails, cement inserted in 2010, still painful?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Long term injury: It's not uncommon for traumatic bone injuries that require surgery to continue with some degree of pain after surgery and physical therapy. You may have to live with this as your baseline. I would suggest that you meet with your Orthopedic surgeon and obtain both a pain managment consult and repeat physical therapy session(s). If pain is progressing then you need a detailed exan for other causes
