My 19 year old is believed to have contracted covid last dec.following tests he had severe pericarditus and myocarditus - post viral. should he have covid vaccine?

Please review the policy with your physician, but the vaccination is recommended 90 days after the initial infection. A Pediatric Cardiologist will follow his cardiac function. Watch for swelling, Respiratory distress and changes in exercise ability. Home BP monitoring is recommended.

Recommendations for patients who contracted COVID are to have COVID vaccine. Current recommendations are that patients with a history of myocarditis or pericarditis should receive vaccine. The risk of triggering myocarditis from COVID vaccine is much smaller than the risk of COVID infection causing myocarditis. It is still a scary proposition if you are the mother. Best wishes.
