Telogen Effluvium is a condition where the scalp (and sometimes other areas) loses hair at an increased rate. This disorder typically occurs after a shock to the body (trauma, severe illness, surgery) and lasts about 6 months. Chronic Telogen effluvium (lasting longer than 6 months) can occur in patients with chronic disease such as Cancer or autoimmune disorders.
