I have postpartum endometritis and i've been taking doxycycline since friday, today (monday) is my first full dose (2x/day). i'm still in a lot of pain in my back and stomach. should i give this antibiotic more time to work or is this abnormal?

Yes, give it more time. Don't expect major improvement in symptoms sooner than 3-4 days. Check back with your doctor if not starting to improve by then.

It generally takes several days for the infection to clear however by the time you completed the course of antibiotics if you’re still having pain and fever you need to be re-examined
