A member asked:

If my mch and mchc levels are low (24.3 and 30.2), and my hemoglobin level is 12.6 with my hematocrit level being 41.7 and my red blood cell count being 5.18, what does it mean? also what does an abs monocyte of 0.9 mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, none of the results you provided are a cause for concern. You may take iron and multivitamin supplements to prevent anemia from menstrual blood loss. Wish you good health!
