I had gallbladder removal 4 weeks ago, and 3-4 days after surgery my alk phos and alt increased significantly. as of july 1st, these values were still elevated but trending downward. should i have them rechecked or assume theyll return to normal?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, abstain from alcohol and get these redone in about 6 months. Wish you good health!
