Young man, i was started to develop large vascular veins in my legs and calves. what could be causing this? they look concerning and bulging. i did not have these previously. is that a sign of liver problems?

Do you have a family history of varicose veins? They are often familial. Chronic liver disease affecting the leg veins would also be accompanied by fluid accumulation within the abdomen causing abdominal distension. If you're concerned enough about your leg veins, consult a vascular surgeon for evaluation and advice.

No, those are not symptoms of liver disease. Liver problem (cirrhosis) mainly causes dilated veins on your abdominal wall. I wonder what were your recent daily activities? Working in prolonged standing position for a period of months may cause engorged veins on both legs.
