Many Symptoms Of MS: Multiple sclerosis (ms), is an inflammatory disease in which the coverings of nerves are damaged causing many signs and symptoms. Changes in mood and anxiety are commonly seen in ms. Symptoms are rarely constant and often occur intermittently with no specific pattern. While ms can cause emotional symptoms on its own, poor coping skills can also contribute. Working with a therapist can be helpful.

What is typical: Anxiety and mood swings are not necessarily caused by MS, but they are associated with having an illness like MS. It's not unusual to have symptoms like that, perhaps 50% of people do. It may help to know that treatment for MS might not help either anxiety or mood swings. If these two are becoming a problem, they may need an intervention of their own.

Not atypical: MS pts can have several emotional issues, including euphoria, depression, and pseudo bulbar affective reactions. If you mood swings seem unpredictable and inappropriate for circumstances, you might have PBA, and a drug Nuedexta can handle it.
