Small fiber nerves: Small fiber neuropathy refers to problems with the small nerve fibers in the skin. It can be diagnosed by a skin biopsy done with special staining. Normally big university medical centers do this test. This condition can be present in the feet, legs, etc. Sometimes people make this diagnosis when they cannot find the cause. In that case, the diagnosis is not certain.
