Doctor told me small fiber neuropathy mainly only occurs in the feet but my symptoms come into my legs. so would i not have small fiber neuropathy?

Neuropathy: Neuropathies are usually symmetric and initially affect the toes and feet and slowly progress and ascend upwards, by the time symptoms reach the knee, then the fingers are affected unless the underlying cause of the neuropathy is found and treated.

Small fiber nerves: Small fiber neuropathy refers to problems with the small nerve fibers in the skin. It can be diagnosed by a skin biopsy done with special staining. Normally big university medical centers do this test. This condition can be present in the feet, legs, etc. Sometimes people make this diagnosis when they cannot find the cause. In that case, the diagnosis is not certain.
