Many do & this medication can be reduced or stopped when used for what you describe without a significant negative effect, That said, it is always good for you to keep your treating doc aware of such changes. They may prescribe smaller dose tablets that are easier to work with.

Make sure you have a clear reason to adjust doses. Informing your physician will help as in case things get worse, your physician will be able to make further recommendations.

It is generally a good idea to talk to the prescribing doctor before changing the dose of medication or discontinuing. Also advise the doctor of all the medications, including herbals and over the counter medication that you may be taking.
