A member asked:

3 years post menopause, experiencing a yellowish gold discharge, not every day but maybe twice a week or so for a month, will i need a biopsy?? extremely scared!! please advise what this could be and what i can expect from my gyno?

Vaginal discharge is quite common. Most times it is due to infection(Vaginosis). It can be treated with antibiotics. When you go for a gynecology exam, you should expect a Pelvic examination which is not painful. Biopsy is often not required unless you have had abnormal vaginal bleeding. So you should relax and discuss any issues with your Gyno and remove your fear/anxiety.
