I went to a doctor to do a eye pressure test.he didn't move the device as close as possible to my cornea.he also didn't use any dye.is the test being done correctly.i got a high reading even though 5 months ago i got a reading of 14 16 ?

The standard test that ophthalmologists use requires the application of a yellow dye suspended in an anesthetic solution. When the eye is numb a prism is moved onto the surface which you cannot feel and the pressure is measured. There is an alternative with a hand held device which requires numbing but no dye. Did the doc apply an anesthetic ? Your test was likely fine but needs a repeat.
