A member asked:

Right side swollen tonsil, right side watery eye, stuffed ear, headache. yellow mucus from nose and throat. sob, can be caused by mucus? no chest pain when breathing in. sinus infection? covid test was negative?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Head colds and other viral upper respiratory tract infections are making a comeback as people stopped wearing masks. I think you have one now. Nasal congestion does impair breathing. Nasal irrigation with clean warm salt water or decongestant nasal spray helps. I usually withhold antibiotics for head colds unless symptoms persist beyond one week or fever or,cough with discolored sputum develops.
