A member asked:

My father is 57years old. and his bilirubin account is 1.57mg.what can cause this?(he's taking pills for high blood pressure for almost 6 years now. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, his bilirubin is only mildly elevated. If it has been stable you could watch and wait. If it goes up, see a GI specialist. Wish you good health!
