My father takes bisoprolol 2.50 mg daily and his blood pressure is 145/60 , so the diastolic one is 60 only, so is he at risk ? shall he stop taking this medicine or shall he take half tablet a day instead of one ?

BP 145 risk?: The higher the systolic BP the greater the risk of dying early and have to live with consequences of HBP before u go. Increased risk starts at 120 and goes up linearly every year. New studies (SPRINT STUDY) reported that those >140 do best when it is lowered to <120. Have him discuss with his team. Measure BP at home properly 3 x at each sitting to track BP. Have Dr check accuracy of his machine.
