Staph (some of which are MRSA) are everywhere in the environment. Some benign forms can be found on newborns within hours of birth from random contact by others. We find is on surfaces people & animals come in contact with. A break in the skin allows an aggressive form to trigger a cellulitis or abscess. Having the kid sanitize or wash his hands more will do more than washing bedding endlessly.
