The prostate is part of the urinary tract so prostatitis IS a urinary tract infection. Unusual to get CHRONIC prostatitis at age 24. Acute prostatitis is a bacterial infection, usually responds to several weeks of Abx. Chronic prostatitis often relapses despite repeated courses of Abx. See a Urologist
