A member asked:

My mcv and mch levels are very high. if i stop drinking alcohol, will these levels come down?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, quitting drinking will more than normalize your red cell indices. It will avoid damage to your brain, reduce risk of cancer and more. Wish you good health!
