PABA has been reported to be a sensitizer and irritant of the skin(causes itchy rashes,) some get diarrhea and nausea, inhibits the function of the thyroid gland, has estrogenic effect(female hormones) &may stain clothing yellow. In excess could cause liver, kidney &blood problems and,in the long term, cancer. Nobody can say that your son will suffer these, but prevention is the Best.Buy one with Zinc

Generally this is safe for a 7 year old. Depending on the product, even some baby sunscreens have some parabens. Certainly with any skin product you should watch for rash or irritation & stop/switch if you see that. If you have access to a product with zinc that is another option if you’re concerned….and remember to reapply!

The dangers of sun exposure far outweigh the risk of paraben exposure. If you are concerned about paraben exposure, simply refrain from using paraben products in the future
