You get definitive answers about a lymph node by removing it and having it studied by a pathologist. That said, it is common to feel pea sized lymph nodes in the neck/back of the head because there is minimal fat hiding them. It is an uncommon site for cancerous nodes to appear. If this thought is causing you to stress, talk it over with your doc.

You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!
